T&T Masters Swimmers Deliver Stellar Performance on World Stage Singapore, Singapore – The swimming world turned its attention to Singapore for the 2025 World Aquatics Masters Championships, and Trinidad and Tobago's small but mighty team of eight swimmers made a significant impact, securing multiple top-ten finishes in a highly competitive field. With over 6,000 athletes from more than 100 countries participating, the event was a testament to the speed and depth of masters swimming, seeing an astonishing 31 World Records and 129 Championship Records fall. Team T&T proved they were not there just to compete but to contend. The squad earned a total of 10 top-ten spots, with several athletes coming within a whisker of the medal podium. Top performers were; Richard Knaggs: 50 Fr 5th, 50 Fl 6th, 100 Fr 8th Anton Gopaulsingh: 50 Bk 6th, 100 Bk 8th, 50 Fl 9th Mervyn Campbell: 50 Fr 4th Donna Wickham; 50 Bk 10th The relays were a highlight for the team, demonstrating powerful teamwork. Both the 200-metre Freestyle and 200-metre Medley relay teams fought their way to a near-podium 4th-place finish. The freestyle team consisted of Luke Paddington, Richard Knaggs, Paul Ahloy, and Anton Gopaulsingh, while the medley team featured Gopaulsingh (bk), Paddington (bk), Knaggs (fl), and Ahloy (fr). 200 Free 4th - Anton Gopaulsingh, Richard Knaggs, Luke Paddington, Paul Ahloy 200 Medley 4th - Anton Gopaulsingh (bk), Luke Paddington (br) Richard Knaggs (fl) Paul Ahloy (fr) The full T&T contingent, which also included the commendable efforts of Lauralee Braithwaite and Patrick Lee Loy, returned home with heads held high.
